Brooklyn-born producer umru first broke onto the scene after co-producing “I Got It” on Charli XCX’s landmark 2017 mixtape Pop 2 while still in high school. Since then, he’s become one of electronic music’s most sought-after collaborators, working with artists including Charli XCX, Dorian Electra, Hannah Diamond, Rebecca Black, underscores, Chase Icon, and Laura Les while helping shape the sound of modern hyperpop.
As both a producer and DJ, umru thrives on unpredictability. His sets jump between hyperpop, trance, Jersey club, hardstyle, UK bass, edits, and unreleased IDs, earning him appearances at Boiler Room, Pop-Kultur, Frost Fest, and clubs around the world. Whether producing emotionally charged pop records or delivering chaotic club sets, umru continues to blur the line between underground dance music and experimental pop.
