Richie Hawtin (born Richard Hawtin in 1970) is a British-Canadian electronic musician, DJ, and producer widely regarded as a pioneer of minimal techno. Emerging from the Detroit techno scene in the early 1990s, he’s best known for his work under his own name and aliases like Plastikman and F.U.S.E., as well as founding influential labels Plus 8 and M-nus. His innovative approach to sound and performance has shaped techno’s global evolution and influenced generations of artists.
