Question 1

Who is CrowdVolt?

Accepted Answer

CrowdVolt was founded by DJs, music producers, ravers, and technologists who are passionate about live events. We built this platform to solve a problem we experienced firsthand — because no one should have to find access to live events through Facebook groups or Reddit threads.

Question 2

How do fees work?

Accepted Answer

Every ticket transaction involves three prices: what the seller lists, what the buyer pays, and what the seller receives. Here's how each one works: Listing price: The amount you set when listing your ticket. It's the baseline everything else is calculated from, but it's not what the buyer pays and not what you take home. For example: you list a ticket for $50. Buyer's price: The buyer pays your listing price plus a buyer fee, shown as all-in pricing on the event page and broken down again at checkout. For example: $50 listing + $2 buyer fee = $52 total at checkout. Total earnings: You receive your listing price minus a seller fee, which is deducted from your payout after the sale and shown to you at the time of listing, so there are no surprises. For example: $50 listing - $2 seller fee = $48 paid out to you. There are no additional fees charged at any stage — what you see at listing and checkout is exactly what you pay or receive.

Question 3

CrowdVolt is currently in New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco - with more cities coming soon.

Question 4

Buying held tickets

Accepted Answer

Why can't I see my QR code yet? We keep QR tickets bought on CrowdVolt hidden until closer to the event, so the code can't be copied or shared before it reaches you. Your ticket is secured. It's just held until it's time to go. When will my QR code be available? 1 hour before doors open, in the venue's local time. Your order shows a countdown, like "Unlocks in 2d 4h" or "Visible at 10/12 at 9PM." How do I get my QR code once it unlocks? We'll notify you by push, text, or email when your tickets are ready. Open your order and tap Activate ticket to reveal your QR, then show it at the door. What do the different order statuses mean? Your tickets are on the way: the seller hasn't delivered yet. We have your ticket (Held): your ticket has been delivered and verified, and it unlocks 1 hour before doors. Your ticket is ready: tap Activate to reveal your QR. Your ticket is activated: tap to see your QR code and show it at the door. Will my QR code change or expire after I activate it? No. Your QR code is static, so it won't rotate or expire. Can I still sell a ticket that's held? Yes, just head over to the event page and list your ticket for sale!

Question 5

What is CrowdVolt?

Accepted Answer

CrowdVolt is a social marketplace for exchanging tickets to electronic dance music events. We connect fans who need tickets with those looking to sell, using a bid-ask model to ensure fair pricing. We believe exchanging tickets should be as easy as enjoying the show.

Question 6

What happens to a transaction when an event is cancelled or partially curtailed?

Accepted Answer

In the event of a full cancellation: Buyers will be refunded in full , including any markup or discount. If you paid more than face value, you'll be refunded the higher amount. If you paid less, you'll be refunded the amount you paid. Sellers must return the full amount they received from the sale, whether it included a profit or involved a loss, since the service (event attendance) was ultimately not delivered. In the event of a partial curtailment (defined as circumstances where the event organizer or venue cancels, suspends, unduly delays or curtails all or part of an event and issues refunds directly to original ticket purchasers): Affected buyers will be refunded in full , including any markup or discount, provided that the original event organizer or primary ticketing provider has issued refunds to original ticket purchasers. If you paid more than face value, you'll be refunded the higher amount. If you paid less, you'll be refunded the amount you paid. Affected sellers must return the full amount they received from the sale. Sellers are not entitled to retain any proceeds, including any markup above face value, once refunds have been issued by the primary ticketing provider. Refunds for partially curtailed events are only available where the event organizer or primary ticketing provider has offered refunds to original ticket purchasers. If no such refunds are offered, buyers are not entitled to a refund from CrowdVolt for partially curtailed events. This policy ensures fairness for both parties. Buyers paid with the expectation of attending the event, and sellers are only entitled to proceeds when that service is fulfilled. Where an event organizer determines that a partial curtailment warrants refunds, CrowdVolt mirrors that decision across all secondary market transactions on our platform. Our platform enforces this policy to maintain trust and transparency for all users.
