A greyed-out or missing AXS Transfer button means transfer is not available for that event at that time. AXS says it may become available later, but that is not a promise of a particular release time. Start with the event’s restrictions before treating it as an app problem.
Check the ticket, event and deadline
Open the exact event in your account, then compare it with your purchase confirmation. Check the date and ticket type, especially if you bought a package or several nights. AXS’s transfer guidance also notes that extras such as merchandise, some VIP benefits and insurance typically cannot move with a ticket.
- Transfer missing or greyed out. Read the event restrictions and ask AXS whether a later transfer window is planned.
- Transfer available, but you cannot finish. Follow the transfer steps and complete the account verification. Record the exact error if it fails.
- Sell missing or greyed out. Check resale eligibility separately. A transfer and an AXS resale listing are different actions.
If the event page gives a release time, note its time zone. If it gives none, do not turn a forum comment about a different show into a delivery deadline for yours. A useful support question is: “Is transfer enabled for this event and ticket type, and is there a confirmed time when it will become available?”
Check the delivery format before trying a workaround
AXS uses different delivery flows. Its Transfer / Share explanation distinguishes Mobile ID, which moves into an AXS account, from eligible e-tickets shared as a PDF. Some shared e-tickets convert to Mobile ID. That is why a friend might need the AXS app even when you expected an attachment in their inbox.
Read the delivery label on your actual order before troubleshooting. If you have Mobile ID, trying to manufacture a PDF will not give the recipient a valid alternative. If the order uses another format, follow that format’s instructions. The useful question is which entry method this ticket supports, not which kind of file is easiest to send.
Also check whether you are trying to send one admission ticket or an entire package. Write down the seat or access tier and any extras the recipient expects. Keeping those details separate helps you avoid promising a VIP benefit or parking arrangement that has not actually moved with the admission ticket.
When Transfer becomes available
In the AXS app, open the ticket icon, choose the event and select Transfer. Choose the tickets and enter the recipient’s details, then review and confirm. AXS requires a one-time passcode for transfers. Follow the prompts in your own account; keep that code private. The official AXS transfer steps cover both the app and website.
Check the recipient’s email address or phone number with them before you send. A typo is easier to fix before confirmation than while your friend is standing outside the venue.
If the button works but verification fails
An enabled button followed by a verification problem needs a different response from a disabled button. AXS’s account verification guidance says ticket transfers require SMS verification. If the account’s phone details are outdated or the code does not arrive, describe that specific problem to AXS; a friend’s working account does not resolve verification on yours.
- Record where the attempt stops. opening the event, selecting tickets, requesting a code or confirming the recipient.
- Check which contact method the verification screen names. Do not send the code to the person receiving the ticket.
- If the app reports a failure, read the ticket’s current status before trying again. First establish whether anything was sent.
- Capture the error wording and the time of the attempt. Hide barcodes, passwords and verification codes in any screenshot sent to support.
For example, “Transfer is greyed out for this event” and “Transfer opens, but I cannot receive the verification message” are two different support reports. The first asks about event eligibility; the second asks about account access. Explaining that difference saves a round of generic troubleshooting.
A screenshot is not a transfer
AXS Mobile ID uses a changing QR code. AXS says screenshots cannot be shared as tickets. Sending a picture of the barcode does not resolve a disabled Transfer button. This guidance concerns Mobile ID tickets; check the actual delivery method instead of assuming every AXS ticket is the same format.
If somebody is already waiting for your ticket
Tell them what the account currently shows. If you sold through a marketplace, contact that marketplace through the order before its delivery deadline. Include the event, ticket type, order reference and the restriction you can see. Ask what the order requires while transfer is unavailable; do not claim that AXS has promised a release time unless it has.
For a group attending together, AXS’s Mobile ID instructions describe entering together or transferring tickets in advance. If you cannot attend yourself, do not assume the buyer can enter using your account or a screenshot. Ask the issuer about the event’s available options.
If your plans have changed, check whether your event supports AXS Official Resale. Eligibility is shown by the Sell option. Before using any resale service, compare its delivery and support requirements in our ticket resale platform guide.
Make a plan if the release time is still unknown
Imagine you bought two tickets and your friend now plans to arrive an hour later. If transfer is unavailable, “I will send it when I get there” is not yet a workable entry plan. Check whether you can arrive together under the event’s rules, whether a release time is confirmed, or whether the issuer offers another supported option. This is a planning example, not a promise that the venue will make an exception.
Send a specific request through official support: “I have [quantity and ticket type] for [event, venue and date]. Transfer is [missing / disabled / failing at this step]. The recipient needs to enter separately at [time]. Is this ticket eligible, and what supported entry option is available if transfer stays unavailable?” Include an order reference privately when support requests it.
If you have already made a resale commitment, keep the buyer-facing platform updated as well. An issuer can explain the ticket restriction; the platform handling your sale can explain the order’s delivery requirements. Keep both replies and the current status together so you are not relying on an assumption from an earlier conversation.
Frequently asked questions
Will AXS enable transfer 24 or 48 hours before the event?
There is no universal deadline in AXS’s general transfer guidance. Use an event-specific confirmation from AXS or the organizer.
Does an available Sell button mean I can transfer the ticket?
Check each option separately. AXS Official Resale eligibility does not establish that a direct transfer is available.
Can I send a screenshot while I wait?
No. For AXS Mobile ID, the changing code must be accessed through the supported ticketing flow.
